Bushey Cricket Club Lost 3 Wickets
Bushey 2nd XI lost out in a high scoring game for the second successive week. Chasing 258 for victory, North Mymms reached the total with three overs to spare and won a game which looked likely to be a draw for most of the innings.
North Mymms won the toss and elected to field. Bushey opener Shaid Manzoor was out early, with the score on 17, however Jarry Logan and Naeem Khan put on a huge 179 for the second wicket. Both batsmen were positive and took advantage of any mistakes by the North Mymms bowlers. Naeem scored his first half century of the season before getting out on 59. Jarryd Logan however stole the show with a majestic 157 not out. His innings was a treat to watch with all the shots in the book. Jarryd looked at ease and was in total control. His innings, which was better than a run a ball, included 23 fours and 2 sixes.
Bushey amassed 257 off only 45 overs when skipper Qamar Ahmed declared the innings and gave his bowlers plenty of overs to get a result. Unfortunately the result was not in Bushey’s favour as North Mymms, assisted by a steady opening partnership, laid the foundation for Shoaib Anwar, who scored a quickfire 90 to take North Mymms to their target. Bushey once again let themselves down with sub-standard fielding and poor catching, Shoaib being dropped a few times early in his innings.
The game was very enjoyable, however Bushey will feel they should have won the game. As the going says ‘Catches win Matches.’
